We consider the helichrysum the true gold of Sardinia: also known as ‘immortal’ because it survives in extreme conditions and if cut does not change colour.
Thanks to its excellent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it helps regenerate the skin by stimulating new cells. It is used in the treatment of acne, sun spots and dermatitis. Promotes peripheral circulation: it is a valuable support in cases of cellulite and water retention and helps relieve itching and burns. In aroma therapy it is used to give a feeling of cheerfulness and vitality, to improve mood and counter depression.
Helichrysum essential oil should never be used pure on the skin but always diluted in vegetable oil at a rate of 10 drops per 100 ml of oil. Do not use during pregnancy and lactation, keep out of the reach of children, keep away from eyes and mucous membranes. If stored in a cool place and away from direct light, it keeps perfectly even once opened. For aromatherapy, we recommend using an essence burner and diluting 5 to 10 drops in water.
Curiosity: an excellent expectorant and antitussive agent can be obtained by adding a drop of helichrysum essential oil in vegetable oil: massage into the chest and back at the level of the lungs in the morning and evening. Also useful in cases of bronchitis. By adding a drop of helichrysum oil to any cream or oil for both face and body you can benefit from its antioxidant properties and promote microcirculation. 1 or 2 drops of helichrysum in vegetable oil for traumas, bruises and contusions, applied several times a day provides rapid relief.
