Thyme is widely used for its antiseptic properties, fighting microbes and bacteria. A great ally during flu
epidemics: as an expectorant and to purify the air. Decongestant and antispasmodic, it is also
recommended for suffumigation. It can be added to a neutral cream or vegetable oil to combat skin
fungus.
Thyme essential oil is very strong so its dilution should be moderate, one or two drops per 100ml of oil
or cream.
In aromatherapy it is recommended to enhance creativity, stimulate memory and invigorate mental
faculties. Useful in times of excessive tiredness or stress.
Thyme essential oil should never be used pure on the skin but always diluted in vegetable oil (carrier oil)
at a rate of 1 or 2 drops per 100ml of oil.
Do not use during pregnancy and lactation, keep out of reach of children, keep away from eyes and
mucous membranes. If stored in a cool place away from direct light, it keeps perfectly even when opened.
For aroma therapy, we recommend using an essence burner and diluting 5 to 6 drops in a little water.
Interesting fact: Thyme essential oil is useful for warding off ants and small insects. Cotton balls
impregnated with essential oil can be used to put them in the pantry and in the corners where they tend to
be found.
The astringent virtues of this oil help rebalance the PH of oily skin and restore vigour to brittle hair.
